Gong Yoo is a South Korean actor who gained significant recognition for his role as Kim Shin in the television series Goblin (2016). He began his career as a VJ and transitioned into acting, with early roles in school dramas and films. His breakout performance came in the romantic comedy The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince, where he played a cafe manager who falls for a girl disguised as a man. After completing his mandatory military service, he starred in the romantic comedy Finding Mr Destiny and the impactful film Silenced, which he initiated based on real events. Gong Yoo also appeared as a North Korean agent in the action film The Suspect (2013). He achieved a resurgence in popularity with hits like Train to Busan and Age of Shadows, alongside his role in Goblin.
