Glynn Turman is an American actor who played Leroy "Preach" Jackson in the film "Cooley High" (1975). He earned a Tony Award for his performance in "The Great White Hope." Turman portrayed math professor Bradford Taylor in the NBC sitcom "A Different World" and Baltimore mayor Clarence Royce in HBO's "The Wire." His film credits include "Gremlins" and "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom." Turman also appeared in "Bumblebee" (2018) and "Sextuplets" (2019). He has collaborated with various directors throughout his extensive career.
