Gloria Foster was an American actress who portrayed the Oracle in The Matrix (1999). She gained prominence through her stage work, earning three Obie Awards for her performances in productions such as In White America and Having Our Say. In addition to her stage career, Foster appeared in films, including The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and the mini-series The Atlanta Child Murders (1985), where she played the mother of Yusef Bell.
