Giancarlo Giannini is an Italian actor who won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor for his role in Love and Anarchy (1973). He began his career in theater, performing in productions directed by Franco Zeffirelli, and made his film debut in Rita the Mosquito (1965). Giannini gained international fame through his collaborations with Lina Wertmüller, particularly in The Seduction of Mimi (1972) and Seven Beauties (1975), the latter earning him an Academy Award nomination. His filmography includes notable titles such as The Innocent (1976), Hannibal (2001), and The Catcher Was a Spy (2018). He has also been a prominent dubbing artist, voicing Al Pacino in Italian since 1975.
