Giancarlo Esposito is an American actor who portrayed Gus Fring in the AMC series Breaking Bad from 2009 to 2011 and its prequel Better Call Saul from 2017 to 2022, winning the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series twice for this role. His extensive television work includes roles in Homicide: Life on the Street from 1998 to 1999, Once Upon a Time from 2011 to 2017, and The Mandalorian from 2019 to 2023, for which he received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Esposito's film credits feature performances in The Usual Suspects from 1995, Ali from 2001, and Okja from 2017. He has collaborated with Spike Lee on projects including Do the Right Thing from 1989 and Malcolm X from 1992.
