George Lazenby is an Australian actor who portrayed James Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969). Before his acting career, he worked in various roles including auto mechanic, used car salesman, and male model. Lazenby was cast as Bond after a screen test and a chance meeting with producer Albert R. Broccoli, despite having minimal acting experience. He famously quit the role just before the film's premiere, believing he would secure other acting opportunities. Throughout his career, Lazenby has appeared in TV movies, commercials, and Hong Kong action films, and has lent his voice to animated projects. He has also been involved in the film series Emmanuelle and participated in several Bond spoofs.
