George C. Scott was an American actor, director, and producer. He portrayed notable characters such as prosecutor Claude Dancer in Anatomy of a Murder (1959), General Buck Turgidson in Dr. Strangelove (1964), and General George S. Patton in Patton (1970). Scott also played Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol (1984) and appeared in Gloria (1999). He received an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in Patton.
