Gautham Vasudev Menon is an Indian director who made his debut with the film Minsaara Kanavu in 1997. He studied mechanical engineering, which influenced the character backgrounds in his films Minnale and Vaaranam Aayiram. Menon has directed several notable films, including Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010), Yennai Arindhaal (2015), and Sita Ramam (2022). His work often reflects his cinematic inspirations, such as Dead Poet's Society and Nayagan. Menon also ventured into ad filmmaking before establishing himself in the feature film industry. He collaborated with actor Silambarasan in the film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001).
