Garry Chalk is a British-born Canadian actor and voice artist who voiced Optimus Primal in the Transformers franchise. He has had a prolific career in film and television, often portraying corrupt law enforcement characters. Notable film appearances include The Fly II, Freddy vs. Jason, and Watchmen. Chalk has also lent his voice to numerous animated productions, with significant roles in Class of the Titans and the 2002 remake of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. In addition to his voice work, he has performed in theatre since 1978, including productions at the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company. Chalk won Gemini Awards for his role in Cold Squad.
