Freddie Jones was a British actor who portrayed Claudius in the 1968 television series The Caesars. He transitioned to acting after a decade as a laboratory assistant in the ceramics industry and received training at Rose Bruford College. His career included performances in films such as The Elephant Man (1980) and Dune (1984), as well as a role in the animated feature The Black Cauldron (1985). Jones played Sandy Thomas in the soap opera Emmerdale. He collaborated with director David Lynch, featuring in several of his projects, including Wild At Heart (1990) and the short film Hotel Room (1993).
