Freddie Highmore is an English actor who starred as Norman Bates in the series Bates Motel (2013–2017). His career began with notable child roles in films such as Finding Neverland (2004), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), August Rush (2007), and The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008). Highmore received two consecutive Critics' Choice Movie Awards for Best Young Performer and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for his role as Dr. Shaun Murphy in The Good Doctor. He also lent his voice to the animated film Dragon Rider (2020) and appeared in The Canterville Ghost (2023). Highmore won a People's Choice Award for his work on Bates Motel.
