Forest Whitaker is an American actor who won an Academy Award for his role as Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland (2006). He made his film debut in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) and gained acclaim for performances in Platoon (1986), Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), and Bird (1988). Whitaker has appeared in notable films such as Panic Room (2002), Arrival (2016), and Black Panther (2018). In addition to acting, he has directed films including Waiting to Exhale (1995) and Hope Floats (1998). Whitaker serves as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and CEO of the Whitaker Peace and Development Initiative.
