Everett McGill is an American actor who made his film debut in The Day of the Locust (1975). He gained prominence with significant roles in Quest for Fire (1981) and Dune (1984). McGill starred in several notable films throughout the 1980s, including Silver Bullet (1985), Heartbreak Ridge (1986), Licence to Kill (1989), and The People Under the Stairs (1991). He played the role of 'Big' Ed Hurley in the television series Twin Peaks (1990–1991). After a hiatus from acting, he returned for the Twin Peaks revival in 2017. McGill's career includes both stage and screen performances.
