Eugene Byrd is an American actor who won the Break-Out Performance Award at the 2006 Method Fest Independent Film Festival for his leading role in Confess. He has appeared in notable films such as Dead Man (1995), Sleepers (1996), 8 Mile (2002), and Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004). Byrd portrayed Dr. Sidney Trumaine in Crossing Jordan and had a guest role in The Cosby Show. His other television credits include Beverly Hills, 90210, Heroes, and Bones. Byrd played a comedic character in the children's series Chris Cross, which aired from 1994 to 1995.
