Erik King is an American actor who portrayed Sgt. James Doakes in the television series Dexter. His early career included appearances in TV shows such as Matlock, NYPD Blue, and JAG, and he starred in the short-lived police drama Sunset Beat in 1990. King appeared in feature films like National Treasure (2004) and Desperate Measures (1998), as well as his character Moses Deyell in the series Oz. He appeared in 24 episodes of Dexter from 2006 to 2007, earning a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor on Television in 2008. King was also a spokesman for Michelin tires.
