Emperor Hirohito is the 124th emperor of Japan, having reigned from 1926 until his death in 1989. He is featured in the film Tokyo Trial: Judging Japan (2016). Hirohito was the longest-serving historical emperor of Japan and one of the longest-reigning monarchs globally. He was succeeded by his eldest son, Akihito, and was the only monarch with the title 'emperor' by 1979.
