Emily Watson is an English actress who received an Academy Award nomination for her debut film role in Breaking the Waves (1996). She began her career in theatre, joining the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1992, and was nominated for an Olivier Award for her performance in Uncle Vanya at the Donmar Warehouse. Watson has appeared in notable films such as Hilary and Jackie (1998), Punch-Drunk Love (2002), The Theory of Everything (2014), and Chernobyl (2019), for which she earned nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award.
