Edward Woodward is an English actor who gained prominence for his role in the British television series Callan (1967). After training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, he performed extensively on stage in both London's West End and New York's Broadway. Woodward's notable film appearances include Police Sergeant Howie in the cult horror film The Wicker Man (1973) and the titular character in the biopic Breaker Morant (1980). He also starred as Robert McCall in the American series The Equalizer, a role that earned him a Golden Globe Award in 1986. Woodward appeared in Hot Fuzz (2007).
