Edward Fox is an English actor who portrayed the professional assassin in The Day of the Jackal (1973). He has appeared in notable films such as Battle of Britain (1969), The Go-Between (1971), for which he received a BAFTA award, and The Bounty (1984). Fox collaborated with director Richard Attenborough in several projects, including Oh! What a Lovely War (1969), A Bridge Too Far (1977), and Gandhi (1982). He also played Edward VIII in the television series Edward & Mrs. Simpson (1978) and featured in the historical drama Taboo (2017). Fox was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2003.
