Ed Lauter was an American actor who appeared in The Longest Yard (1974). His extensive film career includes notable roles in The Last American Hero (1973), King Kong (1976), and True Romance (1993). Lauter also appeared in comedies such as Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise (1987) and Not Another Teen Movie (2001). Additionally, he had a recurring role as Fire Captain Dannaker on the TV series ER. Lauter was part of the cast in The Number 23 (2007) and Raw Deal (1986).
