Ed Bishop made his film debut in Stanley Kubrick's Lolita (1962) as an ambulance driver. He portrayed Captain of the Aries 1B Moon shuttle in 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), a role that originally included dialogue which was later removed. Bishop played Commander Ed Straker in the series UFO (1970–71) and Captain Blue in Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967). He also appeared in films such as The Mouse on the Moon (1963), The Bedford Incident (1965), and Saturn 3. In addition to his acting career, he provided narration and voiced characters in various projects, including the animated Star Trek series in 1974.
