Edward James Begley Jr. is an American actor who played Dr. Victor Ehrlich in the television series St. Elsewhere (1982–1988). He received six consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe Award nomination for this role. Begley has appeared in numerous films, including Blue Collar (1978), An Officer and a Gentleman (1982), This Is Spinal Tap (1984), and Pineapple Express (2008). He collaborated with Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy in mockumentaries such as Best in Show (2000) and A Mighty Wind (2003). In addition to his acting career, he co-hosted the green living reality show Living with Ed (2007–2010). Begley is married to actress Rachelle Carson, with whom he has one child.
