Richard Wayne Van Dyke is an American actor who starred as Rob Petrie in The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961-1966). His career spans over seven decades across film, television, and stage, earning him multiple accolades including a Golden Globe, Tony, Grammy, and four Primetime Emmys. Van Dyke gained prominence with his role in the Broadway production of Bye Bye Birdie (1961), which won him a Tony Award. He also performed in movie musicals such as Mary Poppins (1964) and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968). In addition to his work on screen, he received the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in 2013. Van Dyke was honored as a Disney Legend in recognition of his work in the entertainment industry.
