Dexter Gordon was an Academy Award-nominated actor who starred in Round Midnight (1986). He was also a prominent jazz tenor saxophonist, known as "Long Tall Dexter" due to his height of 6 feet 6 inches. Gordon's acting credits include a role in Awakenings (1990). In addition to his acting, he was influential in adapting bebop to the tenor saxophone.
