DeWanda Wise is an American actress who played the lead role of Nola Darling in Spike Lee's Netflix series She's Gotta Have It (2017). She began her acting journey in high school after being offered a role in a production instead of detention. Wise graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2006 with a degree in fine arts in drama and urban studies. Her film credits include Fatherhood (2021) and Jurassic World Dominion (2022).
