Dev Patel is a British actor who gained prominence for his role as Jamal Malik in the film Slumdog Millionaire (2008). He started his career with a part in the E4 teen drama Skins (2007) and later starred in notable films such as Lion (2016), where he portrayed Saroo Brierley and won a BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Other significant works include The Personal History of David Copperfield (2019), The Green Knight (2021), and Hotel Mumbai (2019). Patel also directed the action film Monkey Man (2024).
