Dennis Lipscomb is an American actor whose debut feature film was Union City released in 1980. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he took on significant roles in films such as Love Child (1982), WarGames (1983), and A Soldier's Story (1984). He also appeared in The Day After (1983), Crossroads (1986), and Under Siege (1992). In addition to his film work, Lipscomb had a recurring role as the mayor in the first season of In the Heat of the Night (1988). His portrayal of DCI Peter Sterling in Spycraft: The Great Game has reached a younger audience. Lipscomb passed away in 2014.
