David Schwimmer is an American actor and director who played Ross Geller in the television series Friends. He began his career in school plays and co-founded the Lookingglass Theatre Company after graduating from Northwestern University. Schwimmer gained prominence in the late 1990s with roles in films such as The Pallbearer (1996) and Kissing a Fool (1998), and he appeared in the miniseries Band of Brothers (2001). His voice work in the animated Madagascar series includes Madagascar (2005), Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008), and Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (2012). He also directed the comedy Run Fatboy Run (2007) and appeared in Friends: The Reunion (2021).
