David Morse is an American actor known for his portrayal of Dr. Jack "Boomer" Morrison in the NBC series St. Elsewhere (1982–88). His notable film roles include performances in The Green Mile (1999), Disturbia (2007), and Concussion (2015). Morse also appeared in the 2006 series House as Detective Michael Tritter, earning an Emmy Award nomination for his work. He portrayed George Washington in the HBO miniseries John Adams (2008), which garnered him a second Emmy nomination. Additionally, he won a Drama Desk and Obie Award for his role in the Off-Broadway play How I Learned to Drive. Morse starred in the film Proof of Life (2000).
