David McCallum is a Scottish actor who gained fame for portraying secret agent Illya Kuryakin in the television series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964). He also starred as Carter in Colditz (1972–1974) and Steel in Sapphire & Steel (1979–1982). McCallum's film credits include a notable role in The Great Escape (1963) and he appeared in The Haunting of Morella (1990). His career saw a resurgence in 2003 when he joined the cast of NCIS as Dr. Donald 'Ducky' Mallard, becoming the longest-serving member over a 20-year period. In addition to acting, he was a musician, releasing several albums of folk and pop music.
