David Kelly was an Irish actor who played Grandpa Joe in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005). He had a prolific career in film and television, starting from the 1950s. Kelly is remembered for his roles as Rashers Tierney in Strumpet City, Cousin Enda in Me Mammy, Mr. O'Reilly in Fawlty Towers, and Albert Riddle in Robin's Nest. He also appeared in Waking Ned Devine and was part of the cast in Mean Machine (2001). Kelly's distinctive voice and presence made him a notable figure in Irish cinema.
