David Hyde Pierce is an American actor who portrayed psychiatrist Dr. Niles Crane in the NBC sitcom Frasier from 1993 to 2004. His performance earned him four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, making him the only actor to win four consecutive Emmys in that category. Pierce received a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his role as Lieutenant Frank Cioffi in the Broadway musical Curtains (2007). He has appeared in various films, including Wolf (1994), Wet Hot American Summer, and A Bug's Life, and has also starred in television series like The Good Wife and Veep. Pierce has directed episodes of Frasier and The Good Wife.
