David Gilmour is an English musician and multi-instrumentalist who was the guitarist, lead vocalist, and songwriter for the progressive rock band Pink Floyd. The band has sold over 250 million records globally, with significant success in the United States. Apart from his work with Pink Floyd, Gilmour has produced music for various artists and has established a solo career. He received a CBE in 2005 and the Outstanding Contribution title at the 2008 Q Awards. Gilmour appeared in the documentary Have You Got It Yet? The Story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd (2023).
