Daveed Diggs is an American actor, rapper, singer, and songwriter who originated the roles of Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in the musical Hamilton. He is also known as the vocalist of the experimental hip hop group clipping. Diggs co-starred in the film Wonder (2017) and played a recurring role in the series Black-ish (2016–2018). His work in the film Blindspotting (2018), which he wrote, produced, and starred in, earned him a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead. He appeared in The Boys (2019) and lent his voice to characters in Ferdinand (2017) and DC League of Super-Pets (2022). Diggs won both a Grammy Award and a Tony Award for his performance in Hamilton.
