Darrick Doerner is a big wave pioneer in the sport of towsurfing who appeared in In God's Hands (1998). An accomplished waterman, he has been involved in various water sports, including surfing, paddleboarding, and windsurfing. His career began in California during the late 1960s and 70s, later moving to the North Shore of Oahu, where he spent over twenty years as a lifeguard. Doerner worked alongside notable figures in the surfing community, such as Eddie Aikau and Laird Hamilton, and played a key role in the development of tow-in surfing, significantly advancing the sport. He has also served as an ambassador for surfing, sharing his expertise worldwide.
