Danny Aiello is an American actor who earned an Academy Award nomination for his role as Salvatore "Sal" Frangione in Do the Right Thing (1989). He appeared in a variety of films throughout his career, including The Godfather Part II (1974), The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985), and Moonstruck (1987). Aiello's notable performances also include roles in Once Upon a Time in America (1984) and Jacob's Ladder (1990). He portrayed Don Domenico Clericuzio in the miniseries The Last Don (1997).
