Daniel Mays is an actor who won the Best Actor prize at the Palmare Television Festival for his role in the BBC film Rehab (2003). He has appeared in notable films such as The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn (2011), The Bank Job (2008), and Atonement (2007). Mays has collaborated with director Mike Leigh on two films, All or Nothing (2002) and Vera Drake (2004). He has also performed in five plays at the Royal Court Theatre in London, including roles specifically written for him. Mays features in the film 1917 (2019).
