Courtney B. Vance is an American actor who won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in Nora Ephron's Lucky Guy (2013). He began his career on Broadway and has appeared in notable films such as Hamburger Hill (1987), The Hunt for Red October (1990), and The Preacher's Wife (1996). Vance portrayed Assistant District Attorney Ron Carver in Law & Order: Criminal Intent and won a Primetime Emmy Award for his role as Johnnie Cochran in The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story (2016). He is married to actress Angela Bassett and serves on the Board of Directors for The Actors Center in New York City.
