Christopher Abbott is an American actor who made his feature film debut in Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011). He has gained recognition for his performances in independent cinema, receiving an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Male Lead for his role in James White (2015). Abbott portrayed astronaut David Scott in the biographical drama First Man (2018) and appeared in supporting roles in A Most Violent Year (2014), It Comes at Night (2017), and Black Bear (2020). He starred as Capt. Yossarian in the Hulu miniseries Catch-22 (2019), earning a Golden Globe nomination. Abbott's television credits include HBO's Girls (2012–2016) and the USA Network series The Sinner (2017).
