Christine Lahti is an American actress and filmmaker who won an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for her directorial debut, Lieberman in Love (1995). She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Swing Shift (1984). Lahti's notable film roles include Housekeeping (1987), Running on Empty (1988), and Desert Bloom (1986). She earned a Golden Globe and an Emmy for her portrayal of Kate Austin in Chicago Hope (1995–99). Additionally, she appeared in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019) and had recurring roles in Law and Order: Special Victims Unit (2009–11) and Hawaii Five-0 (2012–19).
