Chris Weitz is an American film director and screenwriter who co-wrote Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016). He collaborated with his brother Paul on the comedy American Pie (1999) and the Academy Award-nominated About a Boy (2002). Weitz directed the adaptation of The Golden Compass (2007) and The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009). He also wrote the screenplay for Disney's live-action Cinderella (2015).
