Christopher Messina is an American actor, director, writer, and producer who starred as Danny Castellano in the television series The Mindy Project (2012–2017). He has appeared in notable films such as Argo (2012), Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008), and Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) (2020). His work in television includes roles in Six Feet Under (2005), The Newsroom (2012–2014), and The Sinner (2020). Messina also directed and starred in the film Alex of Venice (2014) and wrote and produced Fairhaven (2012). He received two nominations for the Critics' Choice Television Award for his performance in The Mindy Project.
