Chieko Baisho is a Japanese actress and singer who starred as Sakura in the "Otoko wa Tsurai yo" series from 1969 to 1995. She has collaborated extensively with director Yōji Yamada since the 1960s, contributing to numerous films. Baisho received the best actress award at the 5th Hochi Film Award for her role in "A Distant Cry from Spring". She also lent her voice to a character in "Weathering with You" (2019).
