He is known for his role as Clark Griswold in the National Lampoon's Vacation series, which includes multiple films. Chase's filmography features notable titles such as Caddyshack (1980), Fletch (1985), and ¡Three Amigos! (1986). He has won three Primetime Emmy Awards from five nominations. Chase also played Pierce Hawthorne on the NBC series Community from 2009 to 2014. He starred in Seems Like Old Times (1980).
