Chen Kuan-Tai is a Chinese martial arts film star who made his debut in the 1969 film The Chinese Boxer. He gained prominence as one of the first well-trained martial arts actors at Shaw Brothers, appearing in notable films such as Challenge of the Masters (1976) and Executioners from Shaolin (1977), both directed by Lau Kar-leung. Chen also demonstrated his acting range in The Tea House and its sequel Big Brother Cheng, directed by Chih-hung Kwei. After a successful stint with Shaw Brothers, he directed and starred in Iron Monkey (1977) before returning for films like Crippled Avengers (1980) and Killer Constable (1980). His recent work includes a role in Dragon Tiger Gate (2006).
