Charlton Heston is an American actor who gained significant recognition for his role as Moses in The Ten Commandments (1956). He began his career in theater and television before transitioning to film, where he became an international star with performances in epic films such as Ben-Hur (1959), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. Heston starred in several notable movies, including El Cid (1961), Planet of the Apes (1968), and The Omega Man (1971). In addition to his film career, he was an active supporter of civil rights in the 1960s and later served as president of the National Rifle Association. Heston's performance in True Lies (1994) is among his later works.
