Charles Manson was a figure who led the Manson Family cult in California during the late 1960s. His followers were responsible for a series of murders, including the high-profile killing of actress Sharon Tate in 1969. Manson spent much of his life in correctional institutions before forming his cult, where he also pursued a career as a singer-songwriter, notably having a song recorded by the Beach Boys in 1968. His ideology and actions culminated in his conviction for first-degree murder and conspiracy in 1971. Manson's life and crimes have been the subject of various media portrayals, including the film 'Chaos: The Manson Murders' (2025).
