Carrie Brownstein is an American musician, writer, actress, director, and comedian who created the sketch comedy series Portlandia with Fred Armisen in 2009. She gained recognition as the guitarist and vocalist for the punk rock bands Excuse 17 and Sleater-Kinney. Brownstein has appeared in films such as Carol (2015) and Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot (2018), and she was in The Oath (2018). Her work on Portlandia spanned eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
