Byron Howard is an American animator and director who won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature twice for his work on Zootopia (2016) and Encanto (2021). He has directed several notable films at Walt Disney Animation Studios, including Bolt (2008) and Tangled (2010). Howard has also worked as a character designer and story artist. He is recognized as the first LGBT director to achieve this Oscar milestone. His work continues with Zootopia 2, set for release in 2025.
