His roles include A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989), The Incredible Melting Man, and Wolfen. DeBenning's television appearances include series like Custer, Magnum, P.I., and Columbo. He co-starred with Robert Wagner in the film City Beneath the Sea (1971), portraying a character named Aquila. His final appearance was a cameo in the music video for The Avalanches' song "Frontier Psychiatrist" in 2000.
